Medical Nutrition Therapy
Transformations Health and Healing and Anderson's Nutrition works side-by-side to provide seamless services and support. You'll engage in health coaching delivered by a dynamic Transformations health coach and receive comprehensive nutrition counseling by Anderson’s Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) .Our Medical Nutrition Therapy program offers preventive and nutrition counseling and education for diabetes/prediabetes, gastrointestinal (stomach).
Andersons provides the following services at your appointments: education, nutrient analysis, macronutrient breakdown, assessment and evaluation of body, personalized nutrient plan, fitness goals, nutrition-related labs and goal setting and evaluation
STEP 1: PERSONALIZE YOUR PROGRAM
Receive one-on-one nutrition and health coaching to assess your health goals, medical needs, and prepare you for the Medical Nutrition Program.
STEP 2: ENGAGE IN MEDICAL NUTRITION THERAPY
Receive one-on-one nutrition virtual counseling and education to help you make small changes that focus on the why and how of managing your chronic disease.
STEP 3: MAINTAINING YOUR HEALTH
After you have completed nutrition therapy, you'll receive one session of coaching. We'll provide you with a toolbox of strategies to continue your path towards healthy living.
Your Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) can help you:
Help control your blood sugar and reduce the risks of complications associated with diabetes by educating you on foods that are best for living with diabetes. Your RDN will help you design a lifestyle plan that incorporates food, exercise, and natural ways you can control your blood sugar.
Navigate dietary restrictions to avoid GI flare-ups, diarrhea, indigestion, constipation, pain, gas, or bloating caused by IBS, IBD, Crohn’s, and more. Your RDN will provide evidence-based research, food product ideas, and food label-reading tips, and will help you navigate reading labels, get adequate nutrients while following a modified diet, meal ideas, and meal planning, what to look for at restaurants, and will identify possible supplements needed.
Help you get your high cholesterol down and reduce your risk factors for heart disease. Using the latest research, your RDN will teach you natural ways to reduce your LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and overall total cholesterol.
Help you manage the side effects of your treatment and develop a cancer nutrition plan to lower your risk of reoccurrence or developing certain cancers. Your registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) will provide evidence-based research and information on nutrition and cancer while helping you to navigate tube feedings, medication or treatment side -effects, GI irregularities, fatigue, and cancer prevention.
Help you prevent kidney decline and develop an individualized, kidney-friendly nutrition plan to lower your risk of chronic kidney disease. Your RDN will help you navigate nutrition therapy for abnormal labs, including potassium, phosphorus, calcium, and/or sodium, adequate water intake based on your current kidney stage and treatment, getting the right amount of protein intake depending on the CKD stage, meal planning for at-home meals and restaurants, managing diet restrictions to benefit kidney health and heart, bone, and blood health
